I am lookingfor a dental discount program and i know that a part of the name has preferred in the title?
A lot of dental schools offer discount prices for the dental students. Kind of like a beauty school offering cheap haircuts. It's a little scarry though if you think about it. Some states have free dental facilities, but, again, I think it would be risky.
Some good dentist offer payment plans and other options. Maybe check around in your area and find one.
Reply:I just found this out, if you can find a dentist that will give you a discount (30% off) for having no insurance, it will probably be cheaper than what you pay with insurance.
My son has to have the piece of skin between his front teeth lazered off, normally $410 to do it but w/o insurance and with a 30% discount it will cost me $287. That's a deal. Cavaties cost $84 with the discount. My kids just had xrays, cleaning, and exam for $30 each, amazing I tell you. The last time a I took one of the kids to get that service done it cost me $200+ and that was with my insurance, which isn't very good. We diffianetly won't use it now!

If you are getting through your employments open season, then the provider will send you some mail saying when the policy goes into effect. If it is just you buying because you are self-employed, then the same thing applies, the provider will send you a letter.

They are usually staffed by first year dental students. They cannot refuse treatment for financial reasons. You can pay based on a sliding scale based on income. Or apply for charitycare.
CapitalOne or CareCredit offers no interest(for one year) credit cards for specifically medical/dental.
Last go to a dental school, they often offer reduced fees.

Waiting period for dental services?
I have a PPO dental plan and there are waiting periods for certain procedures. Is this waiting period from the time the insurance starts or from the time the proposed procedure is recommended? For example my son needs braces and there is a 12 month waiting period, is that 12 months from the time the insuance started or 12 months from the time the ortho says he needs braces? Do I have to notify the insurance company prior or just wait the 12 months?

I have a question regarding dental insurance & getting help?
I've been told i am going to lose all my teeth within ten years. Well, those ten years have probably came and went. I have gum disease and need oral surgery. I'm also very, very, very fearful of dentist. the times i've gone they've had to put me to sleep. Well, i'm going to lose all my teeth and don't feel i'll be able to go on living. i'm only 45. I need a plan to try and get my life back. I'm in pain now, have been for over a month, and i keep popping advil, motrin, aleve, probably too much. what can i do to get health insurance or a dental plan that covers surgery and can help me get a set of teeth? cause i imagine i'll lose them all, there's too much bone loss not to. I'm scared, cause i know i can die from infection if i don't do something soon. anybody got an answer or sugestions? please don't be cruel, i'm already an emotional wreck.

I understand your fear of the dentist, however, sometimes in life we have to face our fears, and you will find out that going to the dentist is not that awful. Who to call about improving the Postal employees dental coverage?
We have the worst dental coverage there is.My husbanbd works for the Post office,we have Blue cross blue shield and they cover basically nothing and what they do cover they cover by maybe $12! We tried to find a separate dental insurance but it isn't offered anywhere,just dental rebates.Why does the Post office not offer a better dental plan? We had Blue cross before with a different employer and they covered almost all except for crowns and if we did pay a part it was nominal.It is really the Post office that decides the contract and coverage for their employees.Is there any hope that I can contact anyone to ask for improvement?
