Additional Dental Insurance?

I have insurance that is self-funded through my work, but it only has $1,000 a year in allowance. I wonder if I could privately go through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and purchase an additional dental plan. I have such bad teeth (both side effects from years of taking a certain medication and effects from years of grinding my teeth) that I probably need two root canals per year for a while. One root canal wipes out my allowance. Does BC/BS consider pre-existing conditions when a person purchases their dental insurance? (I have epilepsy, which is a pre-existing condition.)

Additional Dental Insurance?
i know of one. it's a very good plan and cheap. and it takes care of ongonig treatment.

e-mail me. just click on my profile and it will provide this info. i'll be glad to share it with you.

i hope you live in the U.S.

it not only dental, but other ongoing treatments.
Reply:Check out AFLAC. Our company got us a group rate deal and they offer a pretty decent Dental package.
Reply:Beware of so-called "discount dental plans" because they are a multi-level marketing scheme. A quick search of the web shows many unhappy customers.

Such plans are completely unregulated because they are not insurance. If you have a problem, there is nowhere to turn. Also, you will be restricted to dentists who are willing to work for less than half their normal fees. Ask yourself what kind of dentist would be that desperate??

Instead of purchasing another plan, set aside funds each month as a medical spending account. Some companies allow you to deduct this money pre-tax, which will save you quite a bit. It wiill likely be more cost-effective to do this than to spend money on monthly premiums for an individual plan.
Reply:Check out this website. www.AffordableDental4all.com They are the largest provider access network in the nation. $11.95 per month, no limits on the amount of work, no claim forms, choose your own dentist, cosmetic work and braces included! Save up to 80% . They will also give you discounts on prescription medications, vision care and chiropractic care at no additional cost.
Reply:There are a lot of discount health benefit companies that are not legit or do not help you save money. I am currently with the site I gave you and they save me lots of money on my dental work. I can't afford dental insurance so they have really helped me. They have been in business for 14 years and members of the BBB and the dental association so they are for real.

If you go to www.needdentalbenefits.com they can save you lots of money on your dental work

Good Luck,
